Mia is getting into the St. Patrick's Day spirit with these fun crafts--green of course! The last time I went to Michael's Craft Store I found some glittery foam shamrock stickers and I've come up with three easy ways to use them. I hope they inspire you to create something too! :)
Shamrock Shirt. Decorate a plain doll shirt with one of the big shamrock stickers. It makes a cool design and the best part is that you can take it off later! You can try this with other stickers too, it's a great way to give your doll a "new" shirt.
Lucky Headband. Tie two ribbons around your doll's head to make a headband, then place a few of the shamrock stickers on the ribbon as a decoration. No pinches for Mia! ;)
St. Patrick's Day Banner. Add some green to your doll's space with this banner! Cut a long piece of ribbon or string, then hang some of the shamrocks stickers on it. (I only cut the top of the sticker's paper backing, leaving the rest on it) You can add some pom-poms, store bought or handmade, for an even cuter look. Making handmade pom-poms is very easy!
There are many ways you can make them, but I recently learned how to do it with a fork and it worked so well. All you need is yarn, scissors, a ruler, and a fork. Here's how you can do it:
1 & 2. First pre-cut a piece of yarn 12 inches in length and set it aside. Then pull out some more yarn (still on the roll) and loop the yarn on the top prong of the fork to hold it in place. Make sure to leave a little bit of yarn hanging at the bottom. As you wrap the yarn around, it will hold the end. 3. Wrap the yarn around the fork 35 times and cut off the yarn at the end. 4. Slide the yarn off the fork, it should look like a little bundle. 5. Now get your 12 inch piece of yarn and carefully place the bundle on top of it. 6 & 7. Tightly tie a knot around the bundle. 8. With scissors, cut through the loops and trim the yarn down to create the pom-pom. 9. Trim the ends and then tie the pom-pom onto the ribbon. 10. And, you're done!! :)
