Doll Craft: Melody Coloring Page Printable!

To celebrate that Melody is the newest Beforever doll, I have a free coloring page printable for you! In Melody's book she made a big welcome sign for her cousin Val and now you can make your own for Melody.

There are two versions of the printable, horizontal (landscape) and vertical (portrait). Click the link or pictures below to print them out. (Be sure to download and print at “Actual Size” from a PDF reader like Adobe Reader. If you save & print directly from your browser, it might not print at the right size.)

Grab some colored pencils, crayons, or markers and get coloring!!

When you're done you can cut the paper so it is a doll-sized sign. You can hang it on the wall or have your dolls hold it to greet Melody if she will be joining your doll family. :)

American Girl Doll Melody Ellison & Fall/Winter Release!

The wait is now over, Melody Ellison is officially here!!! Her 1960s collection is amazing and you can tell a lot of the detail was put into it. 

Melody is super cute! I love everything about her and my dolls can't wait to meet her...soon! ;)

Her accessory set matches nicely with her meet outfit. Gotta love those cool shades!

All of her outfits look great on her too and very 60s. I think her coat is gorgeous! I like how they went with a cream/gold color scheme.

The Block Party Set looks like it will have a lot of play value with the fun bingo pieces.

I'm happy they made Melody a Recording Studio, it fits perfectly with her character. I can't wait to see more pictures of this and hopefully see it in person sometime. :)

American Girl also released two beautiful new Truly Me dolls and other new items for Fall/Winter. 

The new food sets are a great deal at $24! My favorite is the Blender & Milkshake Set.

I think Grace would LOVE this kitchen.

Yay for new historical clothes! 

It's great to see more historically accurate Christmas sets--my family actually have plastic cookie cutters like that in regular size! 

Love these new Winter Wellie Wishers outfits with shoes!!

I always look forward to seeing the Holiday dresses each year and these are really pretty. I used to have a pink lace dress that looked a lot like that!

Wellie Wishers Doll Craft: How To Make An Acorn Backpack!

I'm excited to share my first ever Wellie Wishers doll craft! Inspired by the acorn felt bag in American Girl's Nature Explorer Set, I made an acorn backpack for Willa. I love how it turned out!! I also have a pattern for you to use too. Let's get crafting!

The supplies you need are:

• Dark Brown Felt
• Light Brown Felt
• Ivory Felt
• Tan Felt
• Stick-On Velcro 
• Hot Glue Gun (You could stitch this with a needle and thread too!)
• Scissors
• Ruler (optional)
• Acorn Backpack Pattern

Print Acorn Backpack Pattern

1. Start by cutting out the patterns and tracing them around the felt. You'll need two of the acorn shapes and two acorn top shapes. Cut out a dark brown and tan strip of felt five inches long and an inch wide. Then cut out ten small strips of ivory felt, each a little more than an inch long. 2. Put some glue around the edge of one acorn shapes, then place the edge of the dark brown strip on the glue. 3. Continue gluing until the felt is around the edges as shown. Put glue around the remaining edges and glue on the other acorn. Now it's starting to look more like a backpack! 4. Do the same for the acorn tops, gluing the edges. You might need to snip off any excess felt. 5. Now both the acorn and acorn top look like 3-D shapes.

6. Glue the small strips of ivory felt onto the the acorn top in an X pattern. 7. Glue the inside-back of the acorn top to the back of the acorn. 8. Stick Velcro on the top of the acorn and inside of the acorn top, so that it will stick when closed. 9. Cut out two strips of light brown felt six inches long and an inch wide. These will be the backpack straps. 10. Glue the straps to the back of the bag and you're done!!

Now your Wellie Wishers doll has a backpack to take on all of her adventures!
