With Thanksgiving approaching, it's a nice reminder to give thanks for all we have! This doll-sized wooden chalkboard sign I made can be used as a decoration in a doll room or a cute prop. I'll show you how to make one too, let's get started!
The supplies you need are:
- Basswood Coaster
- Chalkboard Paint
- Paintbrush
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun
(The coaster is found in the wooden section of Michaels. I'm also using Martha Stewart brand chalkboard paint.)
1. Start by painting the wood with the chalkboard paint. You'll need to give it two coats. The label on the back of the paint says it needs 24 hrs. to dry, but you can also take a hair dryer on a low heat setting to make it go quicker. ;) Still make sure the paint is all the way dry before moving forward. 2. Cut a piece of ribbon to be a loop for the top to hang or tape to the wall. I also made a small bow to give a pretty touch. 3. Glue the ribbon to the wood. 4. Write a message with chalk, and you're done!!
Now your doll has an adorable sign for her wall! Felicity loves the rustic look of it. :)
If you make a sign, I'd LOVE to see it! You can send me a picture to [email protected] or tag me on Instagram @creativedollcrafts
Happy Crafting!!
