Happy New Years Eve! 2017 is almost here and that means we have to say goodbye to Lea Clark as the Girl of the Year. I loved picking out my Lea doll on her opening day at the Columbus Store! Here are some of my favorite pictures I've taken of her...

2016 was an awesome year for American Girl Fan! New dolls were added to the family, we had lots of crafty fun, creative photo contests, giveaways & reviews with amazing sponsors, and I've loved meeting more fans of AG! Today I'm looking back at this year and going to share my Top 10 Favorite Posts.
First up is, How To Make A Pineapple Purse. With Lea as the Girl of the Year, I loved making crafts inspired by her!
Our Generation "It Seams Perfect" Sewing Set Review. Finding this set at Target was amazing! Kenley looked so cute trying out her new sewing machine.
American Girl of Today Catalog Throwback. This year I did a few throwback posts to share the history of American Girl. It was great flipping through this catalog from 1997!
How To Make A No-Sew Cat Pillow. Being a cat lover this will always be one of my favorite crafts ever!!
Wellie Wishers Willa Doll Review. American Girl released the new Wellie Wishers line over the Summer and I loved adding Willa to my collection!
How To Make A No-Sew Kitchen Apron. I've made many of these aprons for my dolls since this post. It's a fun, easy craft!
Paint An Emoji Pumpkin. I did many painting craft projects in 2016 and these emoji pumpkins were my favorite!!! I was thrilled how nice they turned out!
Criss-Cross Braid Pigtails. I feel like this was my best hairstyle of the year! And, I just love Lea's hair.
How To Make Freezer Pops. The food craft that brought back memories of how many of these I ate when I was younger!! Haha!
Melody Ellison Doll Review. Melody has become one of my favorite dolls and I'll never forget taking these photos of her the day she arrived! It was the most beautiful day! :)
It was SO super hard to choose only 10! Here are a few honorable mentions: Faux Fishtail Braid, Make A Tomato, Acorn Backpack, Lemon Squeazy Set Review, Make Chicken Nuggets & Fries, and my Wellie Wishers No-Sew Masquerade Ball Costume.

On Good Morning America today they revealed the new Girl of the Year 2017, dancer and poet Gabriela McBride! Her collection looks like it will be very cute!
I love her headphones and outfit in this photo, so awesome! You can check out the whole video of this morning's segment by clicking here. From the article it says, Gabriela is a true creative talent who uses poetry to help break down barriers and overcome her personal challenge of stuttering. She will have a series of three books. They are about her living in a family of artists and how finding her voice through poetry helps Gabriela save her beloved community arts center from destruction.
American Girl is also partnering with Scholastic to release a curriculum program, Express Yourself, to teach poetry to students. They'll also feature a poetry contest to celebrate National Poetry Month in April. How fun! :)
