Samantha & Nellie are ready to celebrate wearing their pretty Valentine Crowns! The crowns are very fun to make and I've created a free pattern for you to use too. Let's get crafting!
You will only need a few supplies to do this craft: red, pink, and white/ivory cardstock, scissors, tape, an X-Acto knife, and the heart pattern below.
1. After you print out the pattern, use it to cut hearts from the pink and red cardstock. You will need three red and three pink. Cut twelve inches of white cardstock to be the crown band. (I bought a full sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock for scrapbooking to make it easier) The thickness of the band should be 3/8 or 1/2 of an inch. 2. With the help of a parent/guardian, use an X-Acto knife to make two small slits in the middle of the paper heart. (I always have a piece of cardboard under the paper to protect my surface). I made the length of the slits a little wider than the band. You could also use scissors to make the slits. 3. Thread the hearts onto the band. 4. When all of the hearts are on it, bend to make the crown shape and secure the two ends with tape. And, you're done!!

Click the link or picture above to print it out. Be sure to download and print at “Actual Size” from a PDF reader like Adobe Reader. If you save & print directly from your browser, it might not print at the right size. (I also included a smaller size for WellieWishers or if you want your crown to have small hearts!)
Now, your doll has a beautiful crown to wear!!
They would be great to make for a doll party! And, they aren't only for Valentine's Day--use different cardstock colors for other fun looks! :)
