Let's Talk: American Girl Books!

In the Summer, reading is always on my mind! American Girl books have been a favorite of mine since I was eight years old and I continue to go back to them even today. Want to talk about American Girl books too?! Yes? Yay!! :)

The first American Girl books I read were the historical ones. I can't remember which book I read first, but I remember reading Meet Samantha , Meet Addy, Meet Kirsten and Meet Felicity at the beginning. After I bought Kit, her books were so cool to me because I live close to where she was in Cincinnati. When Rebecca was new I read her series and Cecile/Marie-Grace too. But, the American Girl mystery books were my favorite of all! I tried to get my hands on every one of them. I loved them!! Some of my favorite mysteries were:

• Midnight in Lonesome Hollow: A Kit Mystery
• The Light in the Cellar: A Molly Mystery
• The Silent Stranger: A Kaya Mystery
• Traitor in Williamsburg: A Felicity Mystery
• The Cry of the Loon: A Samantha Mystery
• The Silver Guitar: A Julie Mystery
• Danger at the Zoo: A Kit Mystery
• A Bundle of Trouble: A Rebecca Mystery

I haven't read any of the new Beforever mysteries, but want to! Especially Maryellen's and Rebecca's.

I also like the Activity books and Girl of the Year books. My favorite Girl of the Year books are Lanie, Jess, Mia, and Kanani. I have Lea & Grace's books since I got the dolls but still need to read them! :)

{Kit had to go grab Kirsten to read with her. I used to do this with my dolls!}

Out of the activity books my favorite is Doll School--so many cute ideas! I'd really like to have Doll Pets and Doll Sports sometime, they look great!!

I hope your doll has fun on her birthday this year! These are just the birthdays American Girl has assigned to the dolls, but of course you can pick the day for your doll to celebrate. It's crazy to think that Kaya would be 261 this year...wow!!

American Girl BeForever Samantha & Sneak Peeks!

Tomorrow is a big day for American Girl Fans! The BeForever line launches its debut, a fresh new look to the American Girl historical dolls. American Girl released a new video sneak peek and I can't wait to see what else they come out with!

Here's a look at all the new historical meet outfits from the video. Which ones are your favorites? I love Kit, Addy, and Rebecca's dresses the most!

And, here's the American Girl video. I think it's so cool and well done, I love it!! In the video they show some peeks of Samantha's collection, but since it goes by fast, I took a few screen shots for a closer look.

Also, American Girl is coming out with new "Journey" books for the historical dolls, where you can decide what happens next. They are similiar to the InnerStar U books where you can choose the ending and where the story goes.
