Comparison Photos of Lea and Rebecca!

When it snowed last week, I took some photos of Lea and Rebecca. They are so cute together and definitely look like sisters! :)

When I first saw Lea she instantly reminded me of Becca, but there are some differences to them. Rebecca looks a lot younger to me than Lea with her face shape and her eyes are a darker green hazel. They have very different eyebrows and skin tone. Rebecca's hair is also darker brown, shorter, and has thicker curls. I got my Rebecca in 2012 before American Girl changed their historical line to BeForever.

Lea looked amazing in the snow, the retired AG Velveteen Coat is gorgeous on her! Here's a few more pictures I took of her...

She is extremely photogenic!!

If you are unsure of whether to get Lea if you have Rebecca, I say go for it! There are plenty of differences between them, including Lea's hair which you can style more then Rebecca's. She has easily become one of my favorite dolls, I love her! :)

They are both such models. ;)

Doll Hairstyle: Lea's Double Twist Half-Ponytail Featured Style!

When I was at the American Girl Columbus Store, I looked at the doll hairstyles on a sign by the Doll Hair Salon. One of them was a featured Girl of the Year hairstyle for Lea, a double twist half-ponytail. It looked so adorable and unique, I took a picture of it to see if I could replicate it myself. It was a fun challenge and I love how it turned out!

Here's what it looked like on the sign. I didn't see a hair stylist do it, so I probably did it differently, but still got a similar result! Want to know how to do it too? Just follow these steps:

 

1. Take two sections of hair from one side. Twist the hair towards your doll's forehead. (If you're doing the right side, twist to the left. If you're doing the left side, twist to the right). 2. Cross section A over section B. Have someone else hold the hair for you as you do the other side. 3. After both sides are twisted and crossed, clip or have someone hold both A sections. Then bring both B sections together and secure with a hairtie. 4. Secure the remaining A sections with a hairtie, underneath the other ponytail. 5. Now you have two twisted ponytails, one on top of the other. 6. And, you're done!

Lea's Accessories & Earrings Review!

Lea can't wait to go on her trip to Brazil with all of her cute accessories. I wanted this set mainly because of her blue camera (my favorite color!), but everything is so fun!

What comes in her accessories is: a camera, camera strap, braided headband, bracelet, sea turtle book, passport, and four pictures of rainforest animals.

Her bracelet is made of stretchy elastics. Friendship and love is on the pink elastic, strength and courage on orange, and nature and harmony on yellow. There is also a metal turtle charm hanging at the side.

If you take off the camera strap, Lea can actually hold her camera! Just put the plastic hooks over her fingers. I love that AG made it easy for her to hold it. 

The photos of the animals are sturdy and glossy. They are blank on the back though, it would've been nice if they were postcards instead. The margay cat is adorable...look at those eyes!! 

Lea's passport is a bright green with a pretty butterfly decoration on the front.

Inside the passport is Lea's picture, info, and space to stamp the places she's been. :)

The book is from National Geographic Kids and has pages with real pictures and information inside about sea turtles.

It's the perfect size for Lea!

The braided headband is the same hair color as Lea's with pieces of colored thread weaved in. Another pink piece of thread is connected to the headband, you can decide whether you want it in the back or front of the braid when you put it over Lea's head. It was very hard to get on at first since it's really tight. After a few times it's gotten much easier, you just have to put the headband on carefully. :)

When I was at the American Girl store, I also got Lea's ears pierced. Here's a peek at the exclusive earrings made just for her. Lea has the pink flower studs in her ears when she gets them pierced, so you will have two of the same pair of earrings--making four sets of earrings included. 

The earrings are so pretty and match all of her outfits! 

My favorite are the butterflies. :)

Overall, I think the accessory set has a lot of playability! I love the small details American Girl put into the set. The earrings are a great addition too! :)
