Let's Talk: American Girl Historical Best Friend Dolls!

Even though they aren't available anymore, I love the American Girl Historical Best Friend dolls! When American Girl came out with the first best friend doll Nellie, I thought the concept was so fun. All of the Best Friend Dolls are:

• Elizabeth Cole (Felicity's Friend)
• Marie-Grace Gardner (Cecile's Friend **Edit**, Marie-Grace & Cecile were best friends but neither one was specified as the best friend doll by AG. Since I have Cecile, I've always thought Marie-Grace as the best friend doll so I accidentally added her to the list. She is so pretty!!)
• Nellie O'Malley (Samantha's Friend)
• Ruthie Smithens (Kit's Friend)
• Ivy Ling (Julie's Friend)
• Emily Bennett (Molly's Friend)

Out of the five best friend dolls, I have two of them--Ivy and Elizabeth. My sister also has Nellie and I borrow her to take photos of sometimes. :)

Elizabeth was my first Best Friend doll and second doll in my collection. I actually got her before I got Felicity! 

Nellie is soooo photogenic and one of my favorites! I'm very glad that my sister chose her to add to our collection. :)

Let's Talk: American Girl Mini Dolls!

Back before I owned an American Girl doll, I loved the Mini Dolls! Since they were more affordable I dreamed of having a whole collection of them. My Grandma was so nice to gift me with my doll Molly for Christmas in 2004, so I didn't get the mini dolls. But years later I bought my first one and the minis were as cute as I thought!

American Girl has changed the mini dolls so much over the years. The first historical mini dolls were released in 1995 and actually had glass eyes to look more like the big dolls. Then in 2000 they had painted on eyes. They've been changed several other times as AG has re-done the historical line to Be Forever and they have new meet outfits. I think each "generation" of mini dolls are adorable and unique! Since Saige came out, AG has made Girl of the Year mini dolls too.

The mini dolls my sister and I own together are: Mini Kaya, Mini Kirsten, Mini Rebecca, Mini Samantha, Mini Kit, Mini Nellie, Mini Felicity, and Mini Caroline! Mini Kaya I bought first and did some fun posts with her in 2009, The Adventures of Mini Kaya. Mini Kirsten & Nellie were featured in some of the stories too. Mini Felicity here I found at a yard sale for a few cents, along with Mini Samantha and Kit. It was such a great find!

Let's Talk: American Girl Doll Pets!

Pets make life so much brighter, of course dolls need them too! Today we're going to talk about the American Girl doll pets. There have been lots of different ones over the years and they all are so adorable. Some are shown above, but here's a list of all the pets AG has made:

So many pets, right?! I think I got them all, but if I forgot one, just let me know. :)

Out of all of those pets, I have Licorice, Toasty, Meatloaf, and Coconut. Coconut is actually Hope's--we got Coconut & Licorice at the same time for our birthdays back in 2005. 

As you can see, our Coconut is an older version. American Girl has gradually changed the look of their iconic puppy five times since 2000. When Coconut came out, the dog was marketed as a boy but then in 2001, Coconut was marketed as a girl. Very interesting! haha 

I bought Toasty as part of an American Girl sale and I love him!

And, finally we have Meatloaf...my favorite AG pet ever!!
