My Review of Rosie's Doll Clothes Patterns!

I've always admired people who sew such gorgeous clothing for American Girl dolls. This year I really wanted to learn how to sew something for my dolls, and learn how to use my sewing machine that I got with Christmas money two years ago. So, I was very excited when I was contacted by Rosie of RosiesDollPatterns.com to do a review!

Rosie's product is a six-week step-by-step video course on how to sew clothes for your 18 inch doll. Each week you learn new sewing terms and fun tips on how to make adorable basic clothing for your dolls' wardrobe. From how to sew straight lines to how to choose fabric, Rosie shares her secrets to sewing doll clothes patterns the easy way! The videos are live-stream directly on her website, so once you purchase you don't have to download anything. You are given a username and password that gives you access to your own account.

With her six-week video course, you get 8 free patterns too! And, even when your video access expires after a year, you still get to keep these patterns to use over and over again.

After watching several of Rosie's videos, I was ready to tackle my first project--Sport Shorts! I printed off the pattern from Rosie's website, and was ready to get started! I'm a beginner but as I started to sew I learned a lot of things!

One was that needles can break! I had no idea, and right after I sewed my first stitch the needletip on my machine completely broke. I was upset that happened because I wasn't sure how to fix it. But, the day after, we had a party with family, and my cousin came to the rescue! Wouldn't you know...she works and helps out at a sewing place!

As we worked, we continued to look at the printed out instructions and my laptop to watch Rosie's step-by-step videos on how to make the shorts.

The pattern videos are so helpful and show you exactly what to do! Rosie guides you through the whole process.

I couldn't believe I was actually sewing! It was an amazing feeling. My cousin had to leave before I finished putting in the elastic on the shorts, but the next day I did it all by myself. I finished my first ever doll sewing project!!!

Special Stop at American Girl Atlanta Store!

You all are very good guessers! On our drive home from Florida my parents surprised Hope and I, and we drove through Atlanta, Georgia to go to the American Girl Boutique & Bistro there! It was so exciting!!

I've only been to the Chicago store 2 times, so I was curious to see if the Atlanta store would be much different. It was actually a lot larger than I thought it would be! They had the Historical Section, Bitty Baby & Twin, Girl of the Year, and the MAG section, a long with the Bistro. I probably took over 100+ pictures, but here are some of my favorites!

McKenna's collection, a long with playing her movie! (On the screen is one of my favorite parts, so sweet!)

Cooper was a lot bigger than I thought he would be! He's so soft and cuddly too.

Here I am with Julie's car! It's an amazing set...

The front and back hoods flip up, and it looked like you could easily store some accessories and clothing in it! The lights turn on, you can beep the horn, and the radio actually plays too!

I love the little license plate. I've heard a few girls ask if a doll can fit in the drivers seat, so my dad asked one of the AG Place workers. She said that a doll can fit in both the driver and passenger seat, but since Julie's only 9 she isn't allowed to drive yet. hehe 

Ivy looked groovy in her new outfit! The sandals are my favorite!

It was fun seeing Cecile's Summer Outfit in person! The yellow was more sheer and pale than in the AG pictures! It's looked very pretty on her.

At the American Girl stores there are also Exclusives that you can only buy there and not online. Here are some that were at the Atlanta Store...

They didn't have the pink pjs in store...but if they did that would've been a tempting buy!

Hope and I had such a fun time shopping and looking around! I'm so thankful to our parents for the chance to go.

Felicity's Relaxation Vacation!

Last week my family and I took a vacation to Panama City Beach in Florida! We had such a fun time! Guess who else else tagged a long for the ride too?

Miss Felicity! Here she is passing the time in the car, it took 13 hours to get there! Whew!

She had fun listening to a little music too!

Finally after all that driving, we arrived! We rented a cute condo that looked out over the beach, it was breathtaking!

Lissie had to get her suit on right away!

Sadly, she couldn't swim on the beach but she had fun doing other things.

They were just her size!

She also did some relaxing of her own...make sure you put on some sunscreen Lissie!! ;)
