It's time Felicity & Elizabeth go back to lessons with Miss Manderly. Every lady needs a nice drawstring pouch to store all of her necessities inside. Today I'm going to show you how to make one, completely no-sew! I have a free pattern that you can use too. Let's get started...
The supplies you need are:
- Felt
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Cording (0.07in/2mm, found in a four-pack at Michael's)
- Ruler/Tape Measure
- Felt Pouch Pattern
Print out Felt Pouch For Dolls Pattern.
Click the link or picture above to print it out. (Be sure to download and print at “Actual Size” from a PDF reader like Adobe Reader. If you save & print directly from your browser, it might not print at the right size.)
1. After you print out the pattern, cut out the circle and place it on your felt. Cut around the pattern to make the perfect size circle for your pouch. Then with your ruler/tape measure, measure from the top of the circle to half an inch down. Make two lines with the pencil a half inch from one another. Do the same to the bottom and the whole circle. You should have twelve sets of lines. 2. Cut carefully on each line. 3. Thread the cording up and down through the holes. 4. Take the circle and bring both sides together like a taco. 5. Pull gently on the cords to cinch the pouch. 6. Make a sweet bow to finish off. You could keep it like this, but if you want your doll to be able to hold it, use another piece of cord. 7. Loop the cord inside one of the outside stitches and make a knot. 8. Bring both cord pieces together to make another big knot. The width of the loop should be two inches to fit over your doll's hand. Cut any excess cord and you're done!!
Felicity and Elizabeth love walking and talking on their way home from lessons! :)
